*Recently someone wrote to me and asked me how I was able to identify both actors in this print. I sent them a link at the Waseda University's  Tsubouchi Memorial Theatre Museum site which has a data base of 47,000 prints. They own another copy of the print featured on this page and provided the names of the actors. There are no cartouches clearly showing their names. Perhaps the scholars at that museum know something more about this print than is apparent.
